Digital Desk: The Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd. (APDCL) has sent an important announcement to all power customers, outlining the updated Fuel and Power Purchase Price Adjustment (FPPPA) prices that would be in effect beginning in October 2023.

This adjustment will apply to energy consumed in September 2023 and will be in effect until additional changes are made.

The FPPPA rates, which are intended to account for volatility in fuel and power purchase costs, differ according to customer category:

1. Domestic Consumers (including JD) • Up to 300 units: Rs. 0.30 per unit • 301-500 units: Rs. 0.50 per unit • 500 units or more: Rs. 1.29 per unit

2. Other Categories (Commercial, Industrial, and so on)
• FPPPA Unit Price: Rs. 1.29

The applicable FPPPA charges for electricity consumption in September 2023 will be spread out in 92 equal daily installments from October 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, for smart pre-paid clients.

In contrast, the FPPPA will be applied prospectively to traditional prepaid customers.

APDCL has guaranteed customers that any adjustments resulting from shortfalls or excess recoveries owing to seasonal changes in consumption during the specified period will be made in succeeding periods or as ordered by the competent authority.

Consumers can visit the APDCL website at www.apdcl.org for comprehensive computations and the current Tariff Schedule.
