This is not the first time that a Bollywood star is expecting to be a part of the Lok Sabha election

Digital desk: In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is reportedly expecting the inclusion of top film stars as potential candidates. With an ambitious target of securing 400 seats, the party sees celebrities who have a good bond with the BJP, such as Akshay Kumar and Kangana Ranaut.

Akshay Kumar, renowned for his movies and hit movies like Housefull, Padman, Toilet Ek Prem Katha, and so many more might enter politics as a BJP candidate, considering either Delhi's Chandni Chowk or Chandigarh constituencies. It is also said that Bollywood Queen Kangna Ranaut might get a ticket from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. However, any official confirmation is still not given about the actress joining the saffron party.

This is not the first time that a Bollywood star is expecting to be a part of the Lok Sabha election. Actor Sunny Deol, who currently holds the seat for Gurdaspur in Punjab, and Kirron Kher, serving as a BJP MP from Chandigarh. Additionally, Hema Malini, known as Bollywood's dream girl, represents the BJP as an MP from Madurai.

The BJP is reportedly evaluating the performance of its 80 MPs, emphasizing that candidates should be selected based on merit and achievements rather than celebrity status alone. Sunny Deol's lack of attendance and parliamentary performance have put his candidacy at risk.

In a strategic move, the BJP is rumored to be considering fielding celebrities like Suresh Gopi in Kerala and exploring similar in Telugu, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
