Akshay Kumar recently made public on discontinuation of Vimal, a pan masala brand that was recently featured in a new advertisement, leaving many of his fans dissatisfied.
The actor responded to a report by a major portal that he condemned as "fake news." Kumar further stated that he had distanced himself from the product after openly withdrawing his support last year.
On Monday, October 9, an online site uploaded a story on X with the caption: "#AkshayKumar returns as the ambassador of Vimal Pan Masala; appears in the new commercial alongside #AjayDevgn and #ShahRukhKhan."
The actor responded and clarified the situation.
Previously, in 2022, Akshay Kumar resigned as Vimal's brand ambassador after receiving widespread criticism from his followers. Later, the 'OMG 2' star apologised to them for associating himself with the tobacco company.
"I am sorry," Akshay stated in a Facebook post. I'd like to apologise to all of my admirers and well-wishers. Your reply over the last few days has had a profound impact on me. While I have not and will not advocate tobacco, I respect your sentiments in light of my relationship with Vimal Elaichi (sic)."
