Digital Desk: On June 28, the ED issued a summons to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut in Mumbai for the suspected Patra Chawl land fraud case.

The change occurs in the midst of the ongoing political conflict in Maharashtra, which was started by a rebellion by Shiv Sena legislators under the leadership of state minister Eknath Shinde.

A Dadar apartment owned by Raut's wife Varsha and eight land parcels in Kihim, next to Alibag, jointly owned by Varsha and Swapna Patkar, were among the immovable properties worth 11.15 crore that the ED had temporarily attached in April as part of the fraud.

Swapna is the wife of Sujit Patkar, who is a close associate of Sanjay Raut.
