Digital Desk: In accordance with a revised policy, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles troops will be able to register online and receive residential housing through a webpage that will be unveiled by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday.

The creation of the eAwas portal, according to a statement from the Union home ministry, was done to improve the "Housing Satisfaction Ratio (HSR)" among paramilitary personnel, bring transparency, and guarantee the execution of the amended policy for housing allocation.

It further said that the portal was created in accordance with the General Pool Residential Accommodation system (eSampada). The ability to contact applicants through SMS and email is provided, and planning for the construction of new quarters based on demand-gap research is made easier.

According to the statement, inter-force allotment will maximise the use of the available housing stock and raise the HSR. "The portal has a provision that any CAPF personnel can apply for the same empty property online if a house of any particular Force is not assigned for any reason for a period of four months."
