Roshan allegedly went to the child's home on June 19 and lured her there under false pretences before raping her alongside his pal Gajanan. According to Pramod Ghonge, in charge of the Umred police station, "Roshan and Gajanan took turns raping the girl." They handed her some money while threatening her to stop talking about it. Not her.

Digital Desk: According to a senior police source, nine persons have been detained in Nagpur district's Umed town on suspicion of gang-raping an 11-year-old girl after police officers looking into a murder case learned that their main suspect was also a rapist.

As per the police, the girl was too afraid to report anything. However, the main suspect, 29-year-old Roshan, allegedly confessed to the rape while authorities were looking into a man's death over a gold ring, which led to Roshan's arrest.

The nine suspects have been taken into custody, according to DSP Sanjay Purandare, deputy superintendent of police for Nagpur rural. Gajanan (age 40), Premadas Gathibandhe (age 38), Govinda Nate (age 22), Saurabh alias Karan Rithe (age 22), Nitesh Fukat (age 30), Rakesh Mahakalkar (age 24), Pradyumna Karutkar (age 22), and Nikhil alias Pinku Narule (age 22) have been identified by the police (24).

Roshan allegedly went to the child's home on June 19 and lured her there under false pretences before raping her alongside his pal Gajanan. According to Pramod Ghonge, in charge of the Umred police station, "Roshan and Gajanan took turns raping the girl." They handed her some money while threatening her stop talking about it. Not her.

A couple of days later, Roshan approached her once more, this time with a different companion. Soon, a pattern emerged. And it carried on for maybe a month after that.

The police detained Badal at the Akola train station on suspicion of killing Shubham Damdu, 25, of Umred, over a gold ring, before Roshan and another associate were apprehended. Roshan ended up discussing the sexual assault while being questioned about the murder.

According to Ghonge, an offence was reported under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, sections 506 (criminal intimidation), 376 (d) (gangrape), and 376 (2) (n) (repeatedly raping the same lady) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
