Digital Desk: In a tragic incident, three children have died and 37 others have been hospitalized following a food poisoning outbreak at a private hostel in Anakapalle, Andhra Pradesh, officials have reported.

Anakapalle Collector Vijaya Krishnan stated that 37 children are receiving treatment for food poisoning at various hospitals in Anakapalle and Visakhapatnam districts. The incident occurred at a hostel operated by the Aradhana Christian Trust in Kailasa Patnam, Kotavuratla Mandal, Anakapalle district.

The students had consumed snacks, including samosas and biriyani, on Saturday and had rice and sambar later that night. On Sunday, they began experiencing vomiting and discomfort, prompting the hostel management to notify their parents and send them home. Upon returning home, the children fell seriously ill and were admitted to the hospital, where three of them, identified as Jashuva, Bhavani, and Shradha, unfortunately died.

On Monday, YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Chief of YSRCP (Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party) and former Chief Minister, expressed profound shock and sorrow over the incident. Reddy called for the provision of top-notch medical care for the affected students and immediate support for the families of the deceased. He condemned the government's negligence, highlighting the deficiencies in monitoring systems. Reddy urged the government to focus on improving these systems and implementing preventive measures to avoid such tragedies in the future, rather than engaging in false propaganda and mudslinging.
