Digital Desk: In a monumental stride for the region's industrial landscape, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma officially inaugurated PepsiCo India's state-of-the-art Rs 778-crore food manufacturing facility at Banekuchi, Nalbari.


The facility will directly empower over 5,000 local farmers through robust agro-linkages while generating 700 jobs. With a progressive mandate focused on women's employment and advanced skill development, the project is poised to uplift community livelihoods and set a new benchmark for sustainable industrialization in Northeast India.


KADlienInnovations has launched a major initiative to promote chip-grade potato farming in Assam to aim at supporting the production of potatoes for chips making companies looking for Local procurement which is projected to expand to 70,000 MT annually.


Over the past few months, KADlien has been actively working to encourage farmers, farmer groups, NGOs, and other organizations to participate in this opportunity to associate with multinational companies. The initiative is designed to strengthen local agriculture while opening new avenues for economic growth.


In particular, KADlien is reaching out to organizations - NGOs engaged in rehabilitation efforts for flood victims who have lost their livelihoods. By introducing potato farming for the food industry, the company hopes to provide a sustainable path for economic recovery and help affected farmers rebuild their lives after recent tragedies.


Additionally, KADlien is collaborating with the MSME Promotional Development Board (PDB), under the leadership of Bhargavi Lima Mahanta, State Chairman of MSME PDB Guwahati, to ensure financial assistance is accessible to farmers in need. This partnership reinforces the company's commitment to building resilience, fostering self-reliance, and driving long-term prosperity across Assam's farming communities.
