A week after one of the most destructive earthquakes hit Turkey and Syria, additional survivors were pulled from the rubble on Sunday. The Turkish government has started legal actions to the building collapses while also seeking to maintain stability in the impacted area.

The number of casualties from Monday's earthquake and its accompanying aftershocks in Turkey and Syria has already surpassed 34,000 and is anticipated to rise further as the possibility of finding more survivors declines. Since 1939, this earthquake has killed more people in Turkey than any other. To prevent robbery by looters, business owners in Antakya, one of the disaster's hardest-hit cities, cleaned up their businesses on Sunday.

Residents and aid workers from nearby cities have observed reports of deteriorating security circumstances, along with several allegations of looting at collapsed homes and businesses.
