Digital Desk:  The year is ending with a good note for the people of Assam. Eminent author Anuradha Sharma Barpujari has been awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award of 2021 for her book "Eyat Ekhon Aranya Asil."

Anuradha Sharma Pujari is the editor of Sadin and Satsori. Her contribution to Assamese literature includes fiction and essays. Her first novel is Hriday Ek Bigyapan, which became popular among the youth of Assam.

 She gained popularity with her column in Letters from Kolkata in Asom Bani weekly and fame with her novel Hriday Ek Bigyapan. The novel went on to printings of 14 editions, granting her unparalleled critical and commercial success.

Anuradha Sarma Pujari has been called "one of the most popular writers of this generation," and her work is described as traversing "the varied textures of human conflict" and covering the tension between the society and the individual, including explorations of femininity and "the gaps that exist between people in a relationship.

Two more authors from Assam have been conferred with the Sahitya Akademi Award. Mrinal Kalita received the Sahitya Akademi Award for Children's literature for his book "Bokul Fulor Dore," and Abhijit Bora received the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar.

 This year has been a glorious year in the field of Literature for Assam. Poet Nilamani Phookan brought laurels to the state by achieving the Jnanpith Award and Anuradha Sarma Pujari receiving the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award.
