In connection with Assam government, the Election Commission of India named Anurag Goel as the next CEO...

Digital Desk: Anurag Goel, Principal Secretary of the Assam government, has been named as the state's new Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), according to an official order issued on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the Election Commission of India (ECI) selected Goel as the next CEO, succeeding the existing Nitin Kumar Shivdas Khade.

The statement further added, "Anurag Goel shall cease to hold and immediately hand over the charge of all or any charges of work under the Government of Assam, which he may have held before such assumption of office."


As stated in the official notification, he would be designated as the Principal Secretary to the Government and head of the Election Department at the state secretariat.

Mentioning to inform you that, Goel was previously the Principal Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department.
