Digital Desk: Beley Konyak was crowned Miss Mon 2023 on April 5 at the ongoing Aoleang Festival cum 3rd Mon International Trade Fair and Expo 2023 held at the Local Ground of Mon.
Beley, a 22-year-old girl from Tobu, was crowned Miss Mon 2023 by Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK) during the Konyak Naga tribe's Aoleang Festival.
Polem Phangmei, 19, of the Kohima unit, was named the first runner-up, while Leom, 19, of the Naginimora unit, was named the second runner-up.
Beley was also crowned Miss Photogenic in the subtitles category, while Polem Phangmei was crowned Miss Perfect 10, and Lejoi was crowned as Miss Congeniality.
The beauty pageant drew 21 candidates from 16 KNSK units in total. Birila Tokiu, former president of the Eastern Nagaland Women Organization, MD Shekinah Christian Foundation, and social worker, was the pageant's special guest.
The beauty contest was attended by all of the Mon district's important dignitaries, CSO officials, and the general public.
The first- and second-place winners got cash prizes of Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,000, respectively, as well as gift baskets of Rs. 7,000. The winner of the Miss Mon 2023 title received a cash award of Rs. 50,000.
The champions were also awarded cash and gift hampers of Rs. 8000. Miss Mon 2023 was hosted by Teihom Mercy and Luaying Konyak.
