Digital Desk: The president of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Bhupen Borah issued a challenge to Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday to stand against him in the general elections in 2024.

In a challenge to the Assam CM, Borah stated that he would campaign for office in 2024 from any constituency CM Sarma decided to run in.

In addition, the leader of the Assam Congress dared CM Sarma to run against him in the Jalukbari district for the Assam Legislative Assembly elections in 2026.

Bhupen Borah also asserted that in his own Jalukbari constituency, Congress would act as a roadblock for Himanta Biswa Sarma.

It should be noted that Assam's legislative assembly elections are scheduled for March or April of 2026, though the exact dates have not yet been determined.

Additionally, the country will hold general elections in 2024 to choose the 18th Lok Sabha's members.
