Digital Desk: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Spokesperson Abdul Khaleque resigned from the post on Saturday.


Additionally, Khalek has resigned from all APCC party positions.

He chose to support Mallikarjun Kharge's bid for Congress president, according to reports.


He said, "I have sent my resignation letter to the President of @INCAssam from Senior Spokesperson and all other party posts-old to participate in the campaign of Shri @kharge Ji for #CongressPresidentPoll following the guidelines of the Central Election Authority of @INCIndia Party."


Kamrul Islam Choudhury, the APCC's general secretary, submitted his resignation from the party's primary membership last month.


In a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Choudhury listed the "directionless and confused leadership of the APCC" as his primary reason for quitting.


As a result, he claimed, the Congress party in Assam has grown "unstable."
