Digital Desk: The arrested Assistant Employment Officer, Rakesh Das, implicated in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) recruitment scam, has been remanded to four-day custody by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Assam Police. Das was presented before a special court in Guwahati earlier today.

Das, initially taken into custody on November 29, had spent seven days in the custody of the SIT before this recent development. The officer's alleged involvement in the APSC scam has drawn significant attention and speculation.

In a parallel development, the five-day custody of ADCP Sukanya Das, also implicated in the APSC scandal, is set to conclude on December 8. Reports suggest that Das underwent interrogation at the CID office in Guwahati today. Arrested on November 4, she was initially sent to a five-day custody of the SIT.

Meanwhile, the SIT summoned APS officers Faruk Ahmed and Ashima Kalita for interrogation into the APSC scam. Both officers were questioned by SIT Chief Munna Prasad Gupta at the CID office. The SIT also conducted medical tests on the two accused police officers, intensifying efforts to unravel the depths of the scandal that has rocked the Assam Public Service Commission.
