Aritra is currently preparing to climb the Vinson Massif in Antarctica, the Aconcagua in South America, the Denali in North America, and the Everest in Asia...

Digital Desk: Aritra Roy, a 34-year-old IT worker from Tripura has achieved a remarkable feat, perhaps the first person from the state to conquer the highest mountains in both Europe and Africa.

According to Aritra, he has now successfully climbed both Mount Elbrus, which is the highest mountain in Europe, and Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the highest mountain in Africa.

He said he would require more technical training and mountaineering courses to conquer the remaining five mountains on the remaining five continents.

"It's challenging for an IT worker in Bangalore to figure out time for training. To become a certified mountaineer and be prepared for higher summits, I want to finish this in excellent health," Aritra stated.

Recalling his journey to becoming a mountaineer, Aritra said that sports were always there in his family as his father, Lt. Sanjoy Kumar Roy, was Tripura's football coach.

Speaking of the difficulties he faced when mountaineering, he stated that physical and mental health are necessary for mountaineering.

"The biggest problem with mountaineering is that it's a highly costly activity when you factor in permits, gear, etc. My wife and I handled the ascent of the two tallest peaks on both the African and European continents. For my next five climbs, which demand significant financial support, I haven't figured out how to find sponsors yet," stated Aritra.

In view of this, Aritra is currently preparing to climb the Vinson Massif in Antarctica, the Aconcagua in South America, the Denali in North America, and the Everest in Asia.
