Arun Chandraprakash Govil declared an income tax return of ₹61,02,850 for the fiscal year 2022–23, with his wife reporting ₹16,74,660

Digital Desk: Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Arun Govil, famed for portraying Lord Ram in the iconic TV serial Ramayan, submitted his candidature for the Meerut-Hapur Lok Sabha seat, expressing joy and likening it to a 'homecoming.' Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and other party members, Govil filed his papers, highlighting his roots in Meerut, where he was born and educated. 

Govil, buoyed by the warm reception from locals, expressed gratitude for their love and support, deeming this election the start of a new chapter in his journey. His nomination was followed by a spirited roadshow, symbolizing his strong support base in the region. Govil's wife, Lekha Arun Govil, stood by his side during the nomination process, signifying familial support. 

In his affidavit, Arun Chandraprakash Govil declared an income tax return of ₹61,02,850 for the fiscal year 2022–23, with his wife reporting ₹16,74,660. Notably, Govil has no criminal record and disclosed ownership of a Mercedes car valued at ₹62,99,000. 

His assets include 220 grams of gold jewelry, while his wife possesses 600 grams. Liquid assets for Govil amount to ₹3,75,000 and ₹1,03,49071 in his and his wife's bank accounts, respectively. 

Additionally, he holds shares worth ₹12,20,7890, and his wife holds shares valued at ₹1,43,59,555. Mutual fund investments for Govil total ₹16,51,383.
