Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh government announced that the Central government would work with the State government to solve the issue of Chakma-Hajong, said Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu.

CM Khandu said, “We have made our mind to resolve the long pending issue of Chakma-Hajong. All the illegal Chakma immigrants will be detected and will be shifted to other places with honour.”

“As per constitution the Chakmas cannot live in Arunachal Pradesh as it is a tribal state. I had discussed with the Union Home Minister about the issue.” Added.

In the joint attempt of Central and state, it will settle the refugees in the other states to lead a dignified life.

“They are also human being, I can feel it what the Chakmas are suffering.” said CM Pema Khandu.

Moreover, this decision was welcomed by the All Arunachal Pradesh Student’s Union.
