The costs are too high. We currently provide free electricity in Delhi. Recently, 25 lakh homes in Punjab did not pay any electricity bills.
Digital Desk: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national
convener Arvind Kejriwal declared on Sunday that if his party wins the upcoming
Gujarat Assembly elections, it will ensure a steady supply of energy throughout
the state and forgive all outstanding debts.
Kejriwal started his two-day trip to Gujarat,
which is ruled by the BJP and will hold elections at the end of the year, on
Saturday.
Kejriwal promised last month that his party will
provide free electricity up to 300 units per month if it were to win the
election in Gujarat. He added that all electricity bills up to December 2021
would be waived if the AAP won the poll in the state where the BJP has been in
power since 1998He promised that the free electricity programme would be
implemented in Gujarat within three months of the assembly elections.
"Our first vow is regarding power
supply," said Kejriwal on Sunday. Kejriwal cited the misery of Gujarat's
citizens as evidence of the AAP government's performance in the power industry
in Delhi and Punjab. The costs are too high. We currently provide free
electricity in Delhi. Recently, 25 lakh homes in Punjab did not pay any
electricity bills.
Soon, 51 lakh houses in Punjab would only receive
zero invoices. We would also ensure a steady supply of electricity throughout
Gujarat. He continued, "We would also waive off the debts from the prior
year," at a press conference in the state where voting is scheduled.
According
to the Delhi Chief Minister, the Gujarati youth regret not being able to
support themselves. "We have provided 12 lakh young people in Delhi with
work in only a few short years. Here, work will also be provided for the
unemployed people. And up until that point, Kejriwal claimed, the government
will give the unemployed 3,000 per month in support.
If the AAP wins the elections, Kejriwal
promised to create a "advisory body" of corporations to give the
government recommendations. While addressing a gathering of nearby business owners,
the Delhi chief minister made tax reductions relating to the Value Added Tax
(VAT) and pledged that his party's administration will put an end to the
"raid raj." I'm here to get businesspeople and industrialists on
board as partners in Gujarat's development, he declared.
"When the AAP creates a government here,
you will be considered as partners. You will issue the directive, and the
relevant authorities will carry it out " he added.
Kejriwal promised the trading community that
if the AAP won power, it would create a "advisory body" to help run
the country.
The other "guarantees" of the AAP,
according to him, included a promise to treat the business community with
respect and remove the "environment of terror." According to him, an
AAP-led government in Gujarat will abolish the "raid raj," or the
persecution of business owners and dealers by government and tax officials.
Kejriwal questioned what was wrong if his
administration in Delhi offered free education and healthcare to the needy in
response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent warning about the dangers of
the "revadi culture," or the practise of giving away things in order
to win elections. He asserted that the expense of the free electricity
programme in Delhi and Punjab was met by a significant increase in revenue.
