The Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC), formerly the Peoples Democratic Front, is a political organization of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist)

Digital Desk: The Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC), a regional party based in the Karbi Hills, unveiled its election manifesto during a press conference led by party president Chandrakant Terang in Diphu. The manifesto highlights four key issues concerning the district.

  1. ASDC pledges to vigorously advance the autonomous state movement.
  2. The party vows to safeguard the territorial integrity of Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao, and West Karbi Anglong Districts.
  3. It advocates for equal rights and status for all tribes residing in the hilly areas.
  4. ASDC promises to promote socio-economic development among women, youth, and farmers in these regions.

Chandrakant Terang emphasized these points while critiquing the Congress and BJP parties during the press briefing. He asserted that addressing these issues requires a strong voice in Parliament, which, according to ASDC, can only be provided by their candidate, Jotson Bey.

The Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC), formerly the Peoples Democratic Front, was established as a mass organization of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation with the goal of achieving statehood for the Karbi Anglong region in the Indian state of Assam.
