Batting first, India had set a 267-run target for Pakistan.

Digital Desk: The highly anticipated Asia Cup 2023 match between India and Pakistan at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy on Saturday was called off due to persistent rain.

After India scored 266 runs in 48.5 overs, no further action was possible. At 9 PM IST, it appeared as though Pakistan would start their run chase, but before the umpires got back to the captains, the rain started up again.

After an hour, the umpires opted to shake hands because the 20-over deadline was at 10:27 PM and it would have taken the grounds crew 45 minutes to prepare the pitch after the rain had stopped.
