Around 100 endangered vulture carcasses were found in Assam's Kamrup district last year in a paddy field close to Guwahati.

Digital Desk: According to reports, up to 25 vultures were found dead on Monday morning in the Sivasagar district of Assam.

Locals in the Gorkush area discovered the remains in a field and informed the forest officials.

Eight more of them are said to be in critical condition right now, according to sources.

The vultures may have been ill after eating a cow carcass that was discovered nearby, a few metres away.

The eight vultures that were still alive were given first aid when forest officials arrived on the scene later.

Around 100 endangered vulture carcasses were found in Assam's Kamrup district last year in a paddy field close to Guwahati.

These vultures, many of which are in critical condition, were discovered in Assam's Kamrup district at Milanpur, under the Chaygaon police station.

According to reports, the vultures were killed after eating a goat carcass that had been laced with pesticides.
