Digital Desk: The Joint Director of Health Services of Assam’s Dima Hasao district has suspended nine health workers, including a doctor, for ‘negligence’ after a video showing a woman bleeding in her labour went viral on social media.

The incident has been reported from the Khepre Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Haflong.

Due to irregularities and negligence in the performance of their duties, the health personnel have been suspended. All nine employees have been suspended until the completion of the departmental investigation.

Notably, there are one MBBS doctor, two pharmacists, four nurses, and two grade IV employees of the health centre among the suspended individuals.

As per the reports, the medical facilities in the district's rural parts have deteriorated since the doctors assigned to Dima Hasao choose to work solely in Haflong.
