Digital Desk: Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio stated that both the Assam and Nagaland governments have been attempting to resolve long-standing border conflicts outside the court.
"Like today, there has been an indefinite resolution to the Assam-Aruncahal border disputes...We should settle our differences outside of the courtroom," said CM Rio.
"We discussed our border issues as well as development issues, as we have to work together, support each other, and move forward," CM Rio told the media.
The CM further claimed that Nagaland's government has agreed to sign an MoU with Assam so that oil drilling could begin in the disputed territories with shared royalties.
"Once the Memorandum of Understanding is signed, there will be an immense opportunity for oil exploration in Nagaland as well," CM Rio stated.

Notably, on Thursday, Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu and Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma marked a historic day by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to resolve the two states' long-standing border dispute. Both Chief Ministers expressed gratitude to Home Minister Amit Shah for his presence and initiative for bringing about an orderly conclusion during the event, which took place at the Ministry of Home Affairs North Block.
CM Khandu said, "It is a historic day today for both Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. We appreciate Home Minister Amit Shah's attendance and initiative. We'll look to it that the two states live in unity with one another." He also thanked all 12 regional committees from both states and underlined his commitment to keeping the border areas peaceful.
