Digital Desk: In a horrific incident, a mother was brutally hacked to death in front of her daughter by unidentified miscreants on Saturday.
As per initial reports, the incident took place in the Bilaipur FV which falls under the Lala subdivision of Assam's Hailakandi.
Initial reports indicate that the assailants forcibly entered the house, and attacked the woman with a sharp weapon. The repeated attack with a machete resulted in her succumbing to profuse bleeding.
Additionally, the assailants also targeted the minor daughter, inflicting injuries, but somehow managed to escape. Later, she was admitted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, local authorities have launched an investigation into the shocking incident and a search for the murderers has been initiated.
However, for the time being, they remain absconding, stated police.
