He was allegedly killed, and the police suspect that his body was dumped close to the river.

Digital Desk: On Sunday, the body of a missing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician was discovered near the Mora Pagladia River in Tihu, Assam.

On the river's banks, the leader's Waggon R car—Kandarpa Barman—was discovered abandoned on Saturday. About a kilometre away from where the car was discovered, the body was discovered on the other side of the river.

He was allegedly killed, and the police suspect that his body was dumped close to the river.

Barman reportedly had marks of injuries on his neck. The victim was sent to a post-mortem, and the police are awaiting the results.

To determine the reason for the alleged killing, the police have also begun a search operation.
