Guwahati: The first two rounds of vote counting have been completed in both Mariani and Bhabanipur constituencies.

In the Mariani constituency, the first round Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was leading. BJP candidate Rupajyoti Kurmi advanced Congress candidate Lohit Konwar with 5895 votes in the first round.

In the second round, Kurmi continued its pace and advanced other parties with 8868 votes so far.

In Bhabanipur, the first round of vote counting showed BJP with 5754 votes and Congress with 598 votes. By the end of the second round, BJP keeps on track with 14,314 votes. In comparison, Congress is stepping behind with 2,831 votes.

As per the latest sources, in both Mariani and Bhabanipur, Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) is taking the lead.
