Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma distributed scooters to 35,770 meritorious students as part of the Pragyan Bharati Scheme at a ceremony on November 30 at Veterinary College Field, Khanapara, Guwahati.

The scooters were distributed to students both boys and girls securing 75 per cent and above in the Class 12 examination.

Scooters under the initiative have been distributed to 35,770 student beneficiaries at a total expense of Rs 25,954.29 lakh.

While speaking to students, Assam's chief minister said, "I urge all to create a personality inculcating a free spirit with thinking that can bring in a positive change in the society. It's important to remember the freedoms provided by their parents. I urge each student to remember their aim. Because one forgets its target then their life turns incomplete".

CM Sarma added on to say that students typically in the age group of 18-25 usually get diverted or distracted from their path. It's important to keep up solid friendships and surround yourself with good people who do not force them to get diverted from their aim.
