Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma blasted out at the Congress on Saturday for its minority declaration' in poll-bound Telangana, claiming that the party is fulfilling Mohammad Ali Jinnah's Muslim League vision.

In an apparent nod to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi without naming him, the BJP leader charged that people who have usurped the Gandhi surname have revived the policies of Jinnah.

According to the Congress' Minority Declaration, which was announced on Thursday, if the party is elected in Telangana, it will ensure fair reservation for all backward classes, including minorities, in jobs, education, and government projects.

In a series of posts-old of X, Sarma wrote: In my entire political experience I could have never anticipated that Cong would tumble so low in their attempt to win the vote bank of one religion. By coming up with religion-specific manifestos, Cong is achieving the objective of Mohammed Ali Jinnah's Muslim League.

Sarma, who shared a snapshot of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee's minority proclamation, said all Bharatiyas should ask the Congress if its slogan of "Jitni Abadi Utna Haq" is a deception to reinstate unlawful Muslim reservation.

Earlier, In a post on X on October 2, Gandhi praised the Bihar government's caste survey and used the words Jitni Abadi Utna Haq' (rights should be proportionate to population).

Sarma also questioned if taxpayer money should be used to pay Mullah wages and fund other contentious programmes.

The Congress has stated that if elected to power in Telangana in the November 30 assembly elections, it will enhance the budget for minority welfare by up to Rs 4,000 crore yearly, in addition to performing the caste census within six months.

The party has offered Rs 1,000 crore per year in discounted loans to unemployed minority youths and women.

According to Sarma, Mahatma Gandhi dedicated his life to opposing the separate electorate system established by Mohammed Ali Jinnah.

And today, those who have usurped the Gandhi surname have resurrected Jinnah's policies. This insult to our Swatantra Senani will not be forgiven or forgotten, stated CM.
