Assam CM has stated that people need to pay toll tax to traverse through the newly constructed bridges...

Digital Desk: On September 28, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated at an event hosted by the Government of Assam's Transport Department that individuals will have to pay tolls for new bridges built across the Brahmaputra River.

Assam CM has stated that people need to pay toll tax to traverse through the newly constructed bridges over the Brahmaputra connecting Sadiya to Dhubri.

The Chief Minister declared that tolls will be levied on newly constructed bridges across the Brahmaputra that will be linked by national highways. The state government made this choice with the goal of collecting taxes in mind. "You have to pay toll tax to the government to cross through the new bridge of the newly constructed Brahmaputra, otherwise people will have to go by boat," said Chief Minister Sarma.

It is worth noting that these newly built bridges were intended to greatly alleviate transportation problems and help those who travel by ferry on a daily basis.

Furthermore, crossing this bridge was projected to lessen the risk to public life while crossing by boat while also shortening travel time. The government's decision to collect a toll tax to cross the newly formed Brahmaputra bridge has alarmed the public.
