Digital Desk: President Droupadi Murmu, presented the National Service Scheme (NSS) Awards for the year 2021-2022 in a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on September 29.

The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports instituted this award to honor people and organizations for their extraordinary volunteer work in the NSS program.

Six dedicated individuals hailing from the northeastern region are being honored for their outstanding contributions for their remarkable efforts. The recipients include three from Assam, one from Mizoram, and two from Tripura.
 
In the "Programme Officer" category of the NSS Awards, Dr. Mitali Kathkatia of Dakshin Kamrup Girl's College in Mirza, Assam, received the award. 

Sajish Ali and Banashri Kakati, two volunteers from Assam, were honored for their remarkable contribution as NSS volunteers. 

Joseph Vanlalhruaia Sailo, a shining NSS volunteer from Synod Higher Secondary School in Aizawl, Mizoram, was recognized for his commitment to community welfare as an outstanding NSS volunteer.

They received recognition as NSS volunteers: Ali Debnath from The ICFAI University in Tripura and Subrata Saha from Ramthakur College in Agartala, West Tripura.
