Dhemaji: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated three new bridges in Dhemaji on Thursday. Assam CM Sarma visited Dhemaji especially for the inauguration of these much-needed bridges.

All these three bridges were built under different schemes of the central and the state government.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY 2017-2018) scheme, the first inaugurated bridge occupies the Fatiha-Bardubi rivulet. It flows along the Bengenagora-Kothalguri road.

The next bridge has been constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY 2018-2019) scheme. It connects the Dusutimukh village to the Kaitong village.

The third bridge has been constructed over the Batua river. It flows along the Batua-Rangkup road. This bridge has been made under the Chief Minister's special scheme.

Assam CM Sarma was accompanied by Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, Finance and Social Welfare Minister Ajanta Neog, including Member of Parliament Pradan Baruah in the inauguration ceremony.

Assam chief minister Sarma took to Twitter to share the news. The post read, "Improving road connectivity across the state is crucial for holistic economic growth. Inaugurated 3 bridges in Dhemaji today. Over Fatiha-Bardubi rivulet on Bengenagora-Kothalguri road (PMGSY 2017-18). Dusutimukh-Kaitong connecting bridge (PMGSY 2018-19)."

He added, "Over Batua River on Batua- Rangkup road under CM's Special Package. Compliments to the PWD team! Ministers @ranojpeguassam, @AjantaNeog & MP @PradanBaruah also joined."
