Guwahati: Assam Cricket Association's Joint Secretary Kamakhya Saikia got appointed as "BCCI Observer." He will be observing the India-New Zealand Second T20 International match. The competition will be held in Ranchi on November 19.

Assam Cricket Association announced the news on its Twitter handle. The tweet read, "Assam Cricket Association takes great pleasure while informing that Shri Kamakhya Saikia, Joint Secretary, Assam Cricket Association, has been appointed as "BCCI Observer" for the India Vs. The New Zealand Second T20 Match is scheduled to be held on November 19, 2021, in Ranchi."

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appointed Kamakhya Saikia in 2019. He worked as the observer for the Emerging Team Asia Cup.

The BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has been designated as the ICC Cricket Committee chairman.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the news on Wednesday.
