The ‘Vijay Utsav’ of Bangladesh is celebrated at Assam Downtown University, Panikhaiti.

The special program is organized under the initiative of the Assistant High commissioner of Bangladesh to India. The special program was organized on the occasion of the golden jubilee celebration of Bangladesh's independence.

Honorable Health Minister of Assam Keshav Mahanta graced the event with his presence as the chief guest of the event.

In his address, the minister wished the government of Bangladesh and its citizens and wished them on a special day.

He was happy to speak about the history of Bangladesh and expressed his gratitude towards the good relations between India and Bangladesh.

The Minister also mentioned that from the independence of Bangladesh to the present day, Assam has good relations with Bangladesh.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Keshab Mahanta said that the Government of India has developed various business relations with Bangladesh. Several artists from Assam and educationists were felicitated through the minister from the Bangladesh Assistant High commissioners office.

Minister Keshab Mahanta also thanked the Government of Bangladesh for conferring Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika with all respect and the highest honor of Bangladesh.

The event was attended by eminent personalities including Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh Dr. Shah Mohammad Tanvir Mansoor, Director of Prag News, Dr. Sanjive Narain, Vice President of Downtown University, Dr. Narayan Chandra Talukdar, along with Dean of Studies, Bandana Dutta.
