Guwahati: In yet another sensational murder reported in the city, a youth allegedly killed his elder brother after a fight broke out between the two. The incident took place at Kushal Nagar, Bamunimaidan on late Sunday evening.
Reportedly, the youth, identified as Jintu das (20), thrashed his elder brother, Kamal Das (22), to death with a rod when he was asleep.
The report said that the incident happened due to a fight between the duo as Jintu tried to sell a cylinder from the house due to a cash crunch.

Sources have quoted the duo to be drug addicts.
Both the mother and her daughter were present in the home at the time of the incident.
The police arrived at the spot after the mother raised a loud hue and cry. An investigation on the same has been initiated.
