Digital Desk: A drug smuggler was arrested and heroin was confiscated from his possession at Bokakhat in Assam's Golaghat district.
Based on specific information, the police conducted search operations in vehicles going from Golaghat to Guwahati on Thursday. The drug smuggler was apprehended from a bus in front of the Bokakhat Police Station.
The arrested drug smuggler has been identified as Gautam Barhoi, a resident of Numaligarh.
Reportedly, a soap box containing heroin, one syringe, two empty containers, and two iPhones were seized from his possession.
As per police, 13 grams of heroin, which is estimated to be worth Rs 20,000 have been seized from Gautam's possession by the police.
The police further stated that a narcotics network is slowly growing in the Numaligarh area. The police are continuing their operations in order to apprehend the narcotics smugglers.
Meanwhile, the police are questioning Gautam.
