  • The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE) in Assam has directed district authorities to implement the Bhartiya Bhasha Summer Camp (BBSC)-2026, promoting linguistic diversity and multilingual learning

Guwahati, Assam: The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE) in Assam has issued directives for the comprehensive implementation of the Bhartiya Bhasha Summer Camp (BBSC)-2026 across all elementary schools within the state. This significant initiative aims to foster multilingual learning and strengthen linguistic diversity among students, aligning directly with the objectives outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Officials confirmed on Wednesday that District Elementary Education Officers (DEEOs) have received explicit instructions to take all necessary measures for organizing and conducting the BBSC-2026 program in schools under their respective jurisdictions. This directive underscores the state's commitment to integrating linguistic appreciation into its educational framework.

According to an official communication from the DEE, the initiative is designed to encourage students to explore and appreciate the rich tapestry of different Indian languages. This move is expected to not only enhance language skills but also cultivate a deeper understanding and respect for India's diverse cultural heritage.

The statewide exercise is being undertaken in accordance with specific directions received from the School Education Department and other relevant government authorities. By engaging students in various Indian languages, the Bhartiya Bhasha Summer Camp is poised to play a crucial role in shaping a generation that values linguistic inclusivity and contributes to the broader national goals of educational reform and cultural integration.
