Legal action has been initiated into the matter and further investigation is underway.

Digital Desk: Assam Police arrested five persons and seized fake gold bars from their possession on Saturday in Guwahati’s Basistha Chariali area.

Two of the people arrested are Jharkhand residents, two are from the Lakhimpur district, and one is from the Barpeta district.

Four fake gold bars were recovered from them by the Hatigaon Police.

Santosh Jauri and Mukesh Kumar from Jharkhand had come to buy the gold. Hasen Ali of Naoboicha, Sirajul Ali of Salbari, and Sahidul Islam of Lakhimpur were identified as the sellers.

The gold dealers allegedly planned to dupe someone.

It may be mentioned that legal action has been initiated into the matter and further investigation is underway.
