Digital Desk: A ferry carrying people was stranded after leaving the shores from Kamalabari in Majuli on Tuesday.

The ferry became stranded in the middle of the Brahmaputra River near Majuli.

Reportedly, there were 26 passengers on board. 

In the wee hours of Tuesday, the ferry named Maa Shubhalakshmi departed.

It was on its way to Nimati from Kamalabari when it became stranded in the middle of the river.

It should be noted that a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was dispatched to the site of the incident to take precautions to ensure the passengers' safety.
