Digital Desk: The Assam government announced on November 1 that scooters will be awarded to meritorious students across the state under the Dr. Banikanta Kakati Award Scheme.

In the weekly cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, the cabinet took several key decisions, which also included the awarding of meritorious students, wherein boy students secured 75% and above and girl students secured 60% and above in the Class 12 exam conducted by AHSEC (Assam Higher Secondary Education Council) will be provided scooters by the state government.

The awarding of the scooters will be on November 30, 2023.

Under the award scheme, a total of 30,209 girl students and 5,566 boys will be receiving the scooters.

Moreover, on November 29, students who achieved a score of at least 75% in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) exam conducted by the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) would receive a cash prize of Rs 15,000 under the Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme.
