Digital Desk: Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck will visit India for a week beginning Friday, during which he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and other senior government officials.


The monarch will be accompanied by prominent Bhutanese government officials.


During his tour, which will last until November 10, he will also travel to Assam and Maharashtra.


Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the King of Bhutan, is slated to visit Assam from November 3 to November 5.


On November 3, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck is set to visit the Kamakhya Temple near Guwahati. He will take part in a cultural event hosted by the Assam government. Gulab Chand Kataria, the governor of Assam, will give a dinner in honour of the king.


On November 4, Bhutan's King will visit the world-famous Kaziranga National Park. The same day, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma would hold a banquet in Kaziranga for the Bhutanese king.

King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck will be accompanied on his tour by his wife, Queen Jetsun Pema, and their two sons.


Keeping in mind during the King's visit, the state government has made changes to its earlier notification (No.HMA.93/2023/20) issued on October 27 to designate officers responsible for overseeing duties at particular venues.


The following is a list of the officers assigned to each location in order to ensure the efficient performance of their duties during the Bhutanese King's visit:






According to official sources, India and Bhutan have special ties of friendship and cooperation that are marked by mutual understanding and trust. The visit would give both sides the chance to review the whole scope of their bilateral cooperation and to further advance their excellent bilateral partnership across a variety of sectors.
