Guwahati: Assam Government announced pension to 20 retired journalists of the state on Friday, August 13. The retired journalists will now receive a monthly remuneration of Rs 8,000 from the state government.

The said pension schemes for the journalists come into effect from the months of April of the current year.

The 20 retired journalists who will be benefitting from the monthly state pension scheme for the journalists are as follows:-

  2. Inakshi Saikia Baruah (Kamrup City)
  3. Manoj Kumar Bhattacharya (Kamrup City)
  4. Kushal Saikia (Kamrup City)
  5. Khagen Vaishya (Baksa)
  6. Lalit Chandra Bora (Jorhat)
  7. Tarun Borah (Sonitpur)
  8. Vedbrata Dev Mishra (Kamrup Metro)
  9. Lachit Sharma (Sonitpur)
  10. Nrippen Chandra Keot (Nagaon)
  11. Roheshwar Chirang (Kamrup Metro)
  12. Shivan Prasad Nath (Dima Hasao)
  13. Vashishtnarayan Pandey (Kamrup Metro)
  14. Vikas Chakraborty (Cachar)
  15. Dhiren Deka (Tinsukia)
