The Head Teachers in charge of the approved schools will get a monthly allowance of Rs 500 as a reward...

Digital Desk: The Assam Cabinet has given its approval to many important initiatives aimed to improve the quality of education in Lower Primary (LP) schools, marking a significant step towards the proper implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The announcement of a new pay scale for the position of Head Teacher at LP schools with an enrollment of 151 or more is the first significant decision by the government.

The Assam Cabinet has also approved the designation of Head Teachers in charge of LP schools with an enrollment ranging from 100 to 150 as Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) for neighbouring schools in an effort to promote cooperation and efficient resource utilization.

With just an enrollment below 100, the assigned schools will benefit from the expertise of these Head Teachers, streamlining the administrative and financial processes.

The Head Teachers in charge of the approved schools will get a monthly allowance of Rs 500 as a reward for accepting the additional responsibility of being DDOs.

Together with the current charge limit of 300, this additional allowance will be made available, formally recognising their contribution to strengthening cooperation between educational institutions and advancing resource management.
