Zubeen Garg, the cherished soul of Assam, departed for an unknown land, leaving the people of Assam drowned in sorrow.
Grief has engulfed every household. Most eyes are sleepless. Late at night, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Zubeen Garg's residence in Kahilipara.
The Chief Minister stated, "The post-mortem examination will be conducted on Saturday morning. There is a possibility that Zubeen Garg's mortal remains may arrive by Saturday evening. His body will be kept at Sarusajai for a day to allow the public to pay their respects. If needed, the mortal remains might be kept at Sarusajai for two days as well."
CM Sarma stated that Zubeen's mortal remains would be brought to Kahilipara, where only family members will pay their respects.
He further mentioned that the location for the last rites would be decided in consultation with the family.
Additionally, the Chief Minister announced that a government holiday would be declared on the day of the funeral.
Referring to the burial site, CM Sarma said, "The people of Jorhat want the burial site to be in Jorhat. We will separately discuss matters related to the funeral and the burial site."
