Digital Desk: On 16th September, the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Cell of the Chief Minister made a high profile raid on the house of Assam Civil Service (ACS) officer Nupur Bora in the Gotanagar  area of Guwahati on suspicion of having assets beyond the known sources of income.

The operation, which began early in the morning, led to the recovery of unaccounted cash amounting to ₹1.5 crore from Bora’s flat. Officials were seen using currency counting machines, assisted by staff from the State Bank of India, to tally the large stacks of cash found during the search.

According to sources, available in the vigilance department , preliminary findings indicate that Nupur Bora, despite having only six years of government service, has allegedly acquired a significant amount of wealth and property far exceeding her lawful income.

As a developmental follow up, CM Vigilance team took Bora to Goroimari today, to conduct further enquiry into the claims of high levels of corruption during her time at the Goroimari Revenue Circle Office. The office is in a search operation where Bora is believed to have perpetrated some serious irregularities.

The investigation has now gone as far as Golaghet, a three-member vigilance team visited  Bora ancestral home located in Amolapatty district. Kamal Bora, a father to her, who lives in a rented home there, was present during the search.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have stated that further revelations are expected as the probe deepens into what could be one of the most significant corruption cases involving a serving ACS officer.
