After receiving bribe money from the complainant for processing mutation works, the culprit was caught red-handed...

Digital Desk: The sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption on Saturday trapped another Lat Mandal after accepting the demanded money in the Lakhimpur district of Assam.

The accused, identified as Dulal Chandra Baniya posted at Narayanpur Revenue Circle in Lakhimpur.

After receiving bribe money from the complainant for processing mutation works, the culprit was caught red-handed at his Dhalpur residence by the anti-corruption cell based on a complaint.

Taking to X, the cell posted, “Today @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red-handed Dulal Ch. Baniya, Lot Mandal of Narayanpur Revenue Circle, Lakhimpur, in his home at Dhalpur immediately after he accepted a bribe for processing mutation works of the complainant.”





Earlier, a Lat Mandal in the Lakhimpur district of Assam was arrested on graft-related accusations after making a demand for money.

The Lat Mandal, identified as Hemendra Bora posted in Tinikunia.

The accused allegedly sought Rs. 1 lakh from a property mutation applicant to process the applicant's namjari.
 
It was discovered that Bora initially paid 50% of the requested amount by UPI, and later, when he was on his way to pay another 50%, the police held him on suspicion of bribery.
