Digital Desk: In a proactive move ahead of the second phase of elections in Assam, authorities made a significant interception, seizing Rs 2 lakh 15 thousand near Ganeshguri.

The vigilant flying squad conducted routine operations, underscoring the heightened scrutiny to deter illicit activities during elections.

The cash was confiscated from Ritesh Agarwal, emphasizing law enforcement's efforts to thwart unauthorized cash movements and uphold electoral integrity.

This incident mirrors the continuous endeavors to ensure fair elections.

Notably, on April 10, the Lakhimpur Flying Squad apprehended Jintu Hazarika, the personal assistant to the President of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Bhupen Borah.

Hazarika was found with Rs 5,30,000 cash, 'Nyay Guarantee Cards,' and foreign liquor bottles, surpassing permissible limits under the election code of conduct. Such interventions showcase the commitment to maintaining transparency and fairness in the electoral process.
