Digital Desk: Amid the Assam Police's sweeping anti-corruption drive, an ex-secretary of Pabho gaon panchayat in Naoboicha was detained on corruption accusations on Saturday.


The arrested individual, Alok Kumar Singh was identified.


Accused Alok Kumar Singh is the current secretary of Majuli's Chilakola gaon panchayat.


According to reports, Singh was apprehended by Bihpuria police in the Garmur area of Majuli. He is presently in the custody of Garmur police, and the case is being investigated further.


Three panchayat employees were detained earlier this year in connection with a Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scam in Bihpuria's Naoboicha Assembly Constituency.
