On the grounds of the APBn, his partially-decomposed body was discovered floating in the water this morning.


Digital Desk: On Thursday, the half-decomposed body of a missing police officer was found floating within the 9th Assam Police Battalion (APBn) building in Nagaon's Barhampur.

Atul Bairagi, a member of the 9th APBn who had been missing since August 15, has been identified as the deceased.

On the grounds of the APBn, his partially-decomposed body was discovered floating in the water this morning.

Police arrived on the scene in the interim and removed the body in front of the magistrate.

More information is awaited.

The body of the young person who vanished in the Siloni River in Assam's Karbi Anglong was found at Longso Kangthu Eco-Tourism Park last month.

The youth's body, named Abhinash Roy, was discovered floating in the river's danger zone by the officers of the forest department in charge of the park.
