Guwahati: Just one week after its launch, 7226 people have already received their learner’s license through ‘Contactless Online Learner's License Facility.

The online process was launched by the transport department on September 3.

The Assam Government announced a new facility for its citizens providing learner’s license online by taking computerized tests in the comfort of their homes without visiting the District Transport Office (DTO) Office.

On September 11, the official data revealed that as many as 801 people received their learner’s license in Kamrup(Rural), followed by 724 in Jorhat and 531 in Kamrup (Metro).

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to share the news and tweeted, “I would like to share with great satisfaction that within one week of launch, 7226 people have got their Learner’s Licenses through online process sitting with comfort from their homes. This initiative has led a paradigm shift in service delivery in the governance.”
